Introduction
TheCyberCom.com is a website design company that specializes in building search engine friendly websites, according to Google Guidelines (attached)
Search Engine Friendly Website
A search engine friendly website is defined as a website built with an Internet marketing strategy or SEO.
SEO
Search engine optimization (SEO) is an internet marketing strategy that considers how search engines work and what people search for when visiting a search engine. Optimizing a website primarily involves editing its content and HTML coding to increase its relevance for specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines.
Preparing Your Content So the Search Engines Optimize it Properly
Our expert “optimizer” focuses on achieving success for the keywords that will deliver the most profit to your website by placing those phases into the website index. Before any work is done on your website, we perform extensive research to find groups of words (keyword niches) that your targeted customers search with; then we research each keyword niche including its size, the competition, and eventually your site’s potential traffic from each key word phases.
Keyword Research
Keywords are words used to search on search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN, AOL, Ask etc. Keyword research is the process of finding out the words and phrases that your potential customers use online. The process involves mulitple steps:
- Find generic key word phrases
- Place each key word phrase into a category (for intuitive navigation purposes
- Prioritize youe keyword niches base on value
Intuitive Navigation Design
Once we have drilled down to our “core keyword categories” we compare and prioritize your target keyword niches in order of profitability, (you will tells us which areas of your business are most profitable) and then we provide you with a list of the ones we recommend you include in your site navigation.
TheCyberCom has developed a whole methodology for analyzing your competition and choosing keywords, which include the existing site traffic, their keywords, and any other features that we deem
Competitive Analysis
One of the first steps we take is to identify your competition to determine what keywords are being targeted in your industry. worthwhile.
Website Design
Your site will be built to satisfy whichever types of searchers you are looking to attract once we have provided you with a list of key words that our research determines can deliver the most qualified traffic to your website. TheCyberCom uses a three-column template, which is specifically designed to make your site easy for the search engines to index
Understanding the Search Engines
There are three pieces of software that together make up a search engine
- the Spider software,
- the Index software and
- the Query software
The Spider software 'crawls the web looking for new pages to collect and add to the search engine indices'. This is a metaphor. In reality, the spider software doesn't actually “crawl or 'visit' any web pages. It requests pages from a website in the same way as you do to requests pages to display on your screen. The difference is that the spider doesn't collect images or formatting - it is only interested in text, links, and the titles of each page.
Task One for the Optimizer
Make sure the title of each page of your website is unique to the content on that page, making it easy for the ‘spider’ to collect the data. No two pages on your website will have the same title.
The Index software catches everything the Spider can throw at it (yes, that's another metaphor). The index makes sense of the mass of text, links, and URLs using an algorithm or a complex mathematical formula that indexes the words, or phases. The algorithm analyses the pages and links for word combinations and assigns scores that allow the search engine to judge how important the page (and URL) might be to the person that is searching. Naturally, the software stores all this information and makes it available in nano seconds to the web browsers.
Task Two for the Optimizer
Put the words and phases that make the most sense as close to the top of the page as possible so that the indexing software knows what the pages is about, and it must match the title.
The Query software is what you see when you go to a search engine, it is the front end that everybody thinks of as a search engine and probably why so many websites are not built correctly. The main feature of the query software is the box into which people type their search terms.
Task Three for the Optimizer
Write a brief description (120 – 160 characters) that matches the title and the keywords so that the searcher can see whether they want to click through to your site
Conclusion
That is it. What you soon learn is that the search engine has done all the hard work of collecting and analyzing web pages, BUT it only makes that information available when someone does a search by entering words in the search box and hitting return. The words people use when they search therefore determine the results the search engine presents.
